Art is for everyone no matter your age. Today I’m shining a spotlight on Equal Arts an organisation based in Newcastle which helps improve older peoples lives through creativity. They work across Gateshead, Newcastle and the UK providing support to older people and people living with dementia, helping them live in the moment through musical, visual and movement based creative activities.

Its very important that people of any age and ability have access to the arts in any form it can greatly improve quality of life and wellbeing, so I’m so pleased we have a charity like this one in the North East to give people older people and those living with dementia a creative lifeline. I’m also obsessed with their HenPower program now in over 40 care homes, which uses chickens as a way to engage the older community with younger people.
